QUETTA: Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) conducted a comprehensive meeting at the Chief Minister House in Quetta to evaluate ongoing developmental projects and future initiatives in Balochistan. Commencing a two-day visit to the provincial capital on Thursday, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his capacity as PPP Chairman, underscored the critical sectors of health, education, infrastructure, and agriculture, emphasizing the need for balanced progress throughout the province.

During the session, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari received detailed briefings on various flagship programs aimed at enhancing public welfare in Balochistan. Significant discussions centered on initiatives such as the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, People’s Air Ambulance, and the People’s Green Bus Service, aimed at improving education access and strengthening public transport infrastructure across the region.

Healthcare initiatives, including the establishment of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and the Gambit Institute of Liver Transplant, were highlighted to improve healthcare delivery and specialized medical services. Notably, there was a significant emphasis on a 300% increase in the education development budget and a 129% rise in the health development budget to uplift social indicators in Balochistan.

In addressing economic empowerment, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari advocated for initiatives such as the Skilled Workers Card Program to facilitate vocational training and employment opportunities. Agricultural advancements, including the transition of agricultural tubewells to solar power and subsidies for tractors, were prioritized to support farmers and enhance productivity.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also emphasized youth development through initiatives like the Youth Skills Development Program and scholarships for Balochistani students pursuing PhDs globally in scientific disciplines. He stressed the urgent need for accelerated infrastructure projects across Balochistan, particularly the completion of housing for flood victims and improvements in regional connectivity.

The meeting was attended by key provincial officials including Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, ministers, and parliamentary secretaries, showcasing a collaborative effort toward achieving developmental milestones in Balochistan. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reiterated his commitment to effectively implement these initiatives to uplift Balochistan’s socio-economic landscape and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
