QUETTA: Khushal Khan Kakar, the Central Chairman of the Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party (PNAP), addressed the media concerning alleged irregularities in the NA 251 Shirani-Zhob-Qila Saifullah elections held on February 8.
Kakar claimed he initially held a lead in the polls but encountered significant challenges when Form 45 documents from all polling stations in Qila Saifullah were unlawfully withheld by the Deputy Commissioner. “Following our protest, the returning officer reduced my lead by 7,000 votes, resulting in my opponent being declared the winner,” Kakar asserted.
Highlighting discrepancies, Kakar noted that while 1660 postal ballots were officially recorded in his favor, only 405 postal ballots were found during a recount on February 12. He alleged that “maliciously, 1000 of my postal ballots were delivered to Maulana Samiullah.”
In response, Kakar and his party filed a petition with the Election Commission, citing what they consider authentic records to support their claims of electoral rigging. Despite their anticipation of a favorable decision, Kakar expressed disappointment as the Election Commission recently dismissed their petition.
The Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party now urges a transparent review of the election results and demands a fair investigation into the alleged electoral misconduct. The party remains optimistic that justice will prevail, reflecting the true will of the electorate in NA 251.
