Speakers at SBMKF seminar call for setting up libraries in Balochistan

Speakers at a seminar organized by Shaheed Baz Muhammad Khan Foundation (SBMKF) have called for setting up more libraries in Balochistan. Writers, authors, intellectuals, bureaucrats, and members of the legal fraternity stressed the need for the establishment of more libraries to spread education and knowledge in society.
“Education is power and books broaden the vision of people”, Mehfooz Ali Khan, a retired bureaucrat told the seminar. Besides men, a large number of women also participated in the seminar, which thoroughly discussed the importance of book reading and the establishment of libraries.
“We have to put our heads together to promote education and meet the demands of students “, Malik Zahoor Shahwani Advocate, the former Chairperson Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Balochistan chapter said.

The speaker paid rich tribute to the martyrs of August 8th, 2016. On this day, a generation of lawyers was lost in a deadly bombing in Quetta’s civil hospital. The library has been established in their memory.
“The society is making positive stride towards democracy and development”, Rafiullah Kakar, a young scholar mentioned. Mr. Kakar said that despite all odds, some committee people like Dr. Lal Khan Kakar were contributing to the development and prosperity of society.
Thanking the participants, Dr. Lal Kakar said that SBMKF was committed to setting up more libraries in Balochistan to promote education and knowledge and open new vistas of information for the young generation.
