Hussain Zarkoon:
DUKKI:
For the last 8th consecutive day, rescue operation has been underway for the recovery of trapped coal miners in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Thursday. Two coal miners were trapped inside a coal mine in Balochistan’s Dukki mines area eight days back.
“Rescue operation is still underway for the recovery of trapped miners”, Syed Saboor Agha, the District Police Officer (DPO) said. He said rescue workers were making hectic efforts to recover the tapped miners.
“Chances of their lives seem to be bleak”, Mr. Agha said
“Chances of their lives seem to be bleak”, Mr. Agha said. Scores of fellow coal miners and relatives of the trapped miners were also present on the spot of the incident. “Balochistan government should provide trained rescue workers”, Nazar Muhammad, one of the relatives of the trapped miners said. He said the rescue workers present on the spot were not properly trained to save human lives.
CM Balochistan is yet to take notice of the tragedy
The family members of the trapped miners have become physiological patients because of the ongoing trauma. “So far, the CM has not even taken a notice of the incident”, Nazar Muhammad lamented.
Poor working conditions inside the coal mines of Balochistan have claimed scores of precious human lives in Quetta and other parts of the province. Hazardous working conditions are yet to be improved despite repeated appeals by rights groups and labour associations.
