Quetta, September 27, 2024 – The Quetta to Chaman highway was blocked for an entire day as family members and tribesmen, supported by various political parties, protested the kidnapping of a young man. The blockade caused severe disruptions, particularly affecting women, children, and elderly patients who were stranded in long queues.

The young man, identified as Sohail Khan Bazai, was kidnapped by nine armed men from the Chashma Achozai chowk area of Quetta, according to police sources. His brother, Najeebullah Bazai, expressed his anguish, stating, “Nine armed men kidnapped my brother. We are desperate for his safe return.”

Passengers caught in the blockade shared their frustrations. Abdullah Khan, one of the stranded passengers, lamented, “We spent the whole day in a long queue with no relief in sight.” Another passenger, Noor Muhammad, echoed his sentiments, saying, “It was a harrowing experience, especially for the elderly and children.”

The protestors, demanding immediate action for Sohail Khan Bazai’s release, vowed to continue their demonstration until their demands are met. The local authorities are under pressure to resolve the situation swiftly to restore normalcy on this crucial highway
