QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, announced the dismissal of 65 teachers in Pishin district due to chronic absenteeism, signaling a stricter accountability drive within the education sector. The CM underscored that improving education is a core objective for the province, as reflected in a recent post on X where he emphasized, “Our commitment to achieving 100% school enrollment across Balochistan remains unwavering.”

The current administration has ramped up efforts to ensure education accessibility in alignment with Article 25-A of the Constitution, which guarantees free and compulsory education. Despite these initiatives, more than 3 million children remain out of school across the province, highlighting the urgent need for reforms. This recent action is part of CM Bugti’s broader campaign, which has already led to the termination of 800 chronically absent teachers across Balochistan. He stated, “We are determined to reopen all non-functional schools and hold educators accountable.”

Reaffirming his commitment, the CM expressed, “Every child deserves an education, and we will not tolerate negligence.” Efforts are underway to address resource constraints and prioritize education, ensuring all students have access to learning.
