US President Donald Trump on Tuesday reiterated his earlier offer of mediation between Pakistan and India on Kashmir issue. The US President was addressing a press conference in the Indian capital after paying two days visit to India. The US president held meetings with Indian Premier Modi and senior officials of his administration.
Trump’s remarks came on Kashmir while responding to a question.
In my capacity, whatever i could do i would do to improve relations between the two countries, the US President mentioned. My relations with Prime Minister Imran Khan of Pakistan and Indian Prime Minister Narendara Modi is so good, Trump said.
Yet to another question, the US president said he thoroughly discussed all issues including terrorism with Indian officials at lenght. He mentioned that Kashmir was indeed a big issue between Pakistan and India.
However, Indian authorities have repeatedly rejected the offer of Trump’s mediation between the two nuclear armed states.
Protesters in several areas of northeast Delhi defied orders prohibiting the assembly of more than five people and threw stones and set some shops and vehicles on fire, a police officer said. Some homes were attacked with rocks.
