The construction of the main terminal, 4600 tons of steel structure of the Gwadar international airport has been completed. The Chinese Consul General based in Karachi, Li Biajian took to the social media network Twitter and said that the construction of the metal welded roof, and interior, and the installation of electromechanical equipment is underway.

The Consul General stated that work was in progress over the construction of a 230 million dollar mega project i.e. Gwadar international airport. Besides, the construction of the roof and interior and the installation of electro-mechanical equipment are also going on rapidly, while there has been more important progress regarding the ongoing process of Gwadar.

In a high-level meeting chaired by Ahsan Iqbal, the federal minister for the planning commission said a 300 MW coal power project has been approved in Gwadar. The project will be completed in a period of 42 months, along with connecting the Makran division to the National Grid in the next two months.

The construction of Gwadar international airport would open new vistas of development and prosperity in the region in general and Pakistan in particular.
