QUETTA: Shutter down strike was observed in Quetta on Tuesday against the deadly suicide bombing. The blast on Quetta’s Adalat road near press club had claimed seven  precious human lives including two policemen. Over two dozen people were injured in the blast that rocked the provincial capital.

Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), JUI (F), Awami National Party (ANP), Anjuman e Tajaran Balochistan, JUI Idealogical and other political groups had given the call of strike to condemn the deadly bombing. “We strongly condemn the bombing in Quetta”, Allah Dad Tareen, the central office bearer of traders community in Quetta said.

All markets and shops in the city remained closed and the flow of traffic on roads is also very thin. Security has been tightened in and around Quetta to maintain law and order situation during the strike.

Funeral prayer of the policeman and levies personnel was offered in Quetta. High level government officials including home secretary, senior police officers and other high ups participated in the funeral.

However, the civilians  martyred in the bombing were also buried in various parts of Quetta amid grief and sorrows.
