QUETTA: The Balochistan government has released 20 prisoners from district Jail Quetta on Friday evening. The prisoners were granted special remission by inspector general prisons on Thursday. A total of 78 prisoners were granted special remission.

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove, special assistant to the chief minister, Bilal Khan Kakar and other officials witnessed the release of prisoners. The prisoners were languishing for a long time inside the jail and heaved a sigh of relief after the release.

“We will release other prisoners imprisoned in petty issues”, Mr. Langove said on the occasion.

The Balochistan government had granted special remission to prisoners under prison rules in the wake of COVID19, which continues to penetrate the province like in other parts of the globe.
