QUETTA: Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Thursday directed the provincial government to utilize Balochistan Awami District Development Program (BADDP) to fight coronavirus in the province. Chief Justice BHC, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail directed the concerned quarters to utilize the funds meant for BADDP schemes in the ongoing battle against the COVID-19.

The Additional Advocate General (AAG), Mr. Shai Haq Baloch briefed the court that BADDP funds have been withheld and diverted to contain and halt the spread of coronavirus. The ACS development Abdul Rehman Buzdar also appeared before the court.

The court also directed the suspension of secretary services and the general administration department as chairman Balochistan Revenue Authority (BRA). The court asked the secretary S&GAD and Advocate General Balochistan that under which law the secretary has been assigned the additional charge of chairman BRA.

The  AAG also briefed the court regarding preparation and implementation of the public sector development program and the judgment of the Supreme Court and BHC in this regard. The court had earlier suspended the utilization of funds under BADDP by the chief minister Balochistan.

A citizen Sheikh Alam Mandokhail had challenged the utilization of PSDP and BADDP in Balochistan earlier. The case was adjourned by the court till April 15th, 2020.
