QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan was thoroughly briefed about the prevailing situation developed in the aftermath of the outbreak of coronavirus and steps taken by the government for its containment in the province. The Chief Minister chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review steps in this regard.
The Chief Minister was told that one month’s stock of personal protective equipment (PPEs), masks and other protective equipment were provided to doctors battling the novel coronavirus in the province. As per the requirement of the doctors and health professionals, the government would continue to provide PPEs and masks during the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Finance Minister Balochistan, Zahoor Buledi, agriculture minister, Zamarak Achakzai and other high ups also attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to provide PPEs to all gyne wards in government-run hospitals to protect doctors from treating the patients. It was decided to provide PCR machines to Zhob, Turbat, Naseerabad, and Khuzdar to conduct coronavirus tests and increase the capacity of the health department in this regard.
“We are determined to protect our doctors and paramedics battling the coronavirus”, the Chief Minister Balochistan mentioned on the occasion. He said the government would use all available resources to make sure the provision of all health facilities to health professionals and masses in the province.
