At least four people were killed in a firing incident in Balochistan’s Pishin district on Monday night. Levies sources said an accused opened fire at two people in Killi Pando Badizai, killing both of them on the spot. One of the victims was stated to be the real brother of the accused, they said. The accused again opened fire killing two people. The accused was also seriously wounded when another group retaliated and was shifted to the hospital in Pishin for medical treatment.

Assistant Commissioner Huramzai Faisal Khan Yousafzai reached the village along with a huge contingent of levies personnel to arrest the accused involved in the firing incident. “We have arrested two people in this connection”, Mr. Yousafzai told the daily Quetta Voice. He said three raids were being planned to make sure the arrest of real culprits behind the incident.

However, people of the area also rushed towards the affected village to calm the enraged tribesmen.

“We are trying to ascertain the reason behind the incident”, the Assistant Commissioner said. Levies conducted raids in the village as an investigation into the incident went underway.
