Pakistan Customs and Frontier Corps conducted a joint raid in Quetta’s Kuchlak area and foiled a major bid of smuggling by seizing a huge quantity of foreign goods. A well-placed officer in Pakistan Customs told the daily Quetta Voice on Friday that foreign goods i.e cigarettes, betel nuts, pan parang, tyres, dry fruits and other goods were recovered from two godowns.

The joint raid was conducted on an intelligence report, he said. Three trucks loaded with smuggled goods were seized by customs and FC. The smugglers were trying to smuggle the foreign goods to various parts of the country, which could inflict heavy financial loss to the national exchequer.

The anti-smuggling operations have been beefed up in the light of instructions passed by Member Customs (Operations) upon the directions passed by the Federal Government. Member customs operations and collector custom Quetta appreciated this combined raid.
