CHAMAN: Assistant Commissioner, Zakaullah Durrani addressing a press conference regarding the arrest of accused involved in the murder of a woman

CHAMAN: Levies force in a successful raid arrested the main accused involved in the murder of his wife in district Killa Abdullah’s Toba Achakzai area. “We have picked up, the accused Sardar Muhammad involved in the murder of woman”, the Assistant Commissioner Chaman, Zakaullah Durrani told a news conference here on Sunday afternoon.

The accused had beaten his wife to death on June 17th this month. Levies had detained the father of the accused earlier and picked up him from Khairzai Shasa area of Toba Achakzai on a tip-off. Levies personnel apprehended the accused at Killi Abbas when he was about to enter into Afghanistan, Mr. Durrani said.

Levies men were in local tribal dresses in private vehicles during the time of the raid, he added.

The accused Sardar Muhammad had married to the woman, the mother of three daughters, five years back. “Progress has been made and levies force finally arrested the accused”, Mr. Durrani stated. The medical report showed that the accused had used blunt weapons to kill the woman. The woman belonged to Barshore Tehsil area of district Pishin. Deputy Commissioner Pishin, Qaim Khan Lashari and Deputy Commissioner Killa Abdullah, Major (R) Bashir Bareech also coordinated regularly regarding the arrest of the accused.

The cold-blooded murder of woman sparked protests in Quetta to mount pressure on the authorities to apprehend the culprit involved in the murder. This incident has come a week after a woman was tortured to death in a similar incident in Balochistan’s Muslim Bagh area. The killers in Muslim Bagh murder case are still at large.
