No plan to make Southern Balochistan a province: Liaquat Shahwani

Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani on Monday revealed that around 40,000 vacancies were lying vacant in various provincial and federal departments for the province. Addressing a press conference, Mr. Shahwani said government created 6,000 vacancies during the current budget for the financial year 2020-21 with an objective to provide jobs to jobless youth of the province.

Prime Minister, Imran Khan has also assured the implementation of a 6 percent quota of Balochistan in federal ministries and departments, which would help us to overcome the unemployment to a large extent, he mentioned. “Frustration of youth can be ended through the provision of jobs”, he added.

The Prime Minister’s office had directed all federal ministries and departments to submit a detailed list about the posts of Balochistan as early as possible, the PM’s office said in a statement the other day.

The job quota of Balochistan was increased from 3.5 percent to 6 percent to bring the province at par with other parts of the country by the federal government earlier. Implementation of federal job quota is also one of the six points of Balochistan National Party (Mengal).

The Balochistan government has also directed all provincial secretaries to submit report about the vacant posts in their respective departments. Secretaries have been directed to submit report about vacant posts, a notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) said.
