Around 10,000 patients have recovered from the novel coronavirus in Balochistan since the outbreak of the pandemic. Most of the patients have recovered from the virus at their homes in isolation. The recovery percentage is stated to be around 86 percent in Balochistan, which is higher as compared to other parts of the country, as per the official statistics obtained by the daily Quetta Voice.
The Corona Cell reported 23 new cases on Sunday as the tally reached 11,601 in the province. The deadly virus has so far caused 136 deaths in Balochistan. The health department Balochistan has conducted a total of 57,535 tests of the COVID19.
The number of cases continues to decline in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. The Corona Cell used to report fro 400 to 500 daily cases, which has declined to less than 50 per day currently. “Our strategy has succeeded in reducing the cases”, Liaquat Shahwani, the Spokesman government of Balochistan told the daily Quetta Voice. Mr. Shahwani however demanded of the people to follow the guidelines set by the government regarding the coronavirus.
The government has urged upon the masses to adopt social distancing and strictly follow the standard operating procedure during the fast-approaching Eid ul Azha to battle the virus. Cattle markets have been set up outside Quetta city to contain the virus and cattle owners have been directed to follow SOPs.
