The Balochistan government has decided to open OPDs for patients in government-run hospitals in the province. According to a notification issued by the health department on Tuesday, outdoor patients would be allowed to get treated in all government-run hospitals of the province from August 15th.
The government had suspended health services at all OPDs of government hospitals in the wake of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus during March this year. The hospital staff, doctors, paramedics and patients have been directed to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while visiting OPDs in the province.
This decision was made after a declining number of cases of the deadly virus in the province. It may be mentioned here that health professionals were exposed to the COVID19 and 287 doctors and 69 paramedics were tested positive for the virus.
Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan had also demanded of the provincial government to open OPDs keeping in view problems faced by patients belonging to far-flung areas of the province.
