Pak-Afghan border Badini Trade Terminal Inaugurated

BADINI: Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan on Tuesday inaugurated the Pak-Afghan Badini trade-terminal to boost economic activities. Pakistan has established a trade-terminal and gate-way at the Badini border to promote trade with Afghanistan.  “This will open new vistas of development for this frontier region”, Jam Kamal Khan said.

Commander Southern Command, Lieutenant General Waseem Ashraf, Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC), Major General Fayyaz Hussain Shah, provincial ministers, tribal elites, traders community participated in the function at the Pak-Afghan border.

FC Balochistan worked for a long time to make this project a success.

Commander Southern Command 

Speaking on the occasion, the Commander Southern Command Lieutenant Waseem Ashraf termed the establishment of trade-terminal as a good step. He said this was the result of the joint efforts of Pak-Army, FC, and Balochistan government to facilitate the traders’ community and people living in the bordering areas.

Around 6 billion to be spent on the development of the bordering areas 

Chief Minister, Jam Kamal informed that in the next few years, around 6 billion rupees would be spent on the development of roads and other infrastructure of the bordering belt. He said the terminal would boost socio-economic activities and generate jobs for the people living on both sides of the border.

“Through this terminal, we would be able to export our products to the Central Asian states as well”, the Chief Minister said. He said all-out efforts would be made to provide basic facilities to people in bordering areas of the country.

He however stated, “we have to accept that we are responsible for the backwardness of Balochistan”. Jam Kamal stated that had resources used in a transparent manner situation would have been changed now.

The Chief Minister lauded the role of Pak-Army, FC, local administration, the business community for playing their effective role in the establishment of a trade-terminal at the Pak-Afghan border.
