Coronavirus cases to increase after PDM Peshawar Jalsa: Predicts Shahwani

Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani on Saturday predicted that cases of coronavirus would increase after the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Peshawar Jalsa.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, Mr. Shahwani claimed cases of the deadly virus already increased in the aftermath of PDM’s Quetta Jalsa in Balochistan. “People would go from Balochistan to participate in PDM Peshawar Jalsa”, he noted, claiming they (people) would contract the virus there.
The Spokesman government of Balochistan predicted that cases of the deadly virus would increase after the PDM Peshawar Jalsa. He urged opposition political parties to realize the sensitivity of the situation and exercise a rational approach to help the government to contain the second-wave of coronavirus in the country.
Balochistan confirms 7 deaths during the last 20 days
“Balochistan has confirmed 7 deaths during last 20 days”, Mr. Shahwani said. He informed that cases of the novel coronavirus were on a constant rise in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.
About educational institutions, the Spokesman said annual examinations across the province in educational institutions would be held in March 2021. The government has extended examinations to tackle the second-wave of the deadly virus in the province. “We have directed all educational institutions heads to strictly follow SOPs”, he added.
Educational institutions report 928 coronavirus cases
In Balochistan, educational institutions have confirmed 928 cases of the deadly virus so far.
In response to a question, Mr. Shahwani said the provincial government has not made any decision about the lockdown in the province. He however urged the people to adopt the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to contain the virus.
Balochistan province has confirmed 16,699 cases of the novel coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic, Waseem Baig, the Spokesman of the Corona Cell stated. He said the virus has caused 158 deaths in the province.
