Digital banking the easiest way for taxes submission: SBP managers

Managers of the State Bank of Pakistan have termed digital banking as the easiest way for the submission of taxes. The business community must use digital banking to ensure timely submission of taxes, assistant chief manager of SBP Sohaib Qadir said.

The SBP officials organized a one-day awareness session regarding the importance of digital banking for the members of Balochistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (BCCI). SBP officers Muhammad Younas and Hidayatullah also participated in the awareness session.

Schemes introduced to facilitate business community

“New schemes introduced by SBP to facilitate the business community”, Sohabi Qadir mentioned. He said the business community should ensure maximum use of information technology and digital bank.

“This will ensure timely submission of all their bills and taxes”, the SBP officer noted. He said earlier the business community was facing difficulty in submission of customs duty now things have changed. “Very easily custom duty can ben paid through the digital bank at FBR“, he added.

The SBP managers assured that all grievances of the business community would be addressed on a priority basis. Our inspection teams would pay surprise visits of banks to make sure implementation of SBP orders, they assured.

Business community members put questions before SBP officers 

BCCI leaders including Abdullah Achakzai, Syed Abdul Rehman Shah Agha, Salahuddin Khilji, Haji Janan Achakzai, and others were also present on the occasion. The business community members also put questions before the SBP officials for their understanding of digital bank.

Answer and question sessions also held to develop an understanding of digital banking and information technology.
