Buz Kashi match played between Pakistan and Afghanistan after 6 years

QUETTA: After 6 years, Buz Kashi (goat pulling game) match played between players of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The friendly match between the two neighboring countries attracted thousands of spectators in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.
The players made tooth and nail efforts to pull the goat and reach it to the specified destination. Nadir Pehlawan, a prominent player succeeded in pulling the goat after tireless efforts. “Government wants to promote such historic and traditional sports activities”, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, the Adviser to the Chief Minister Balochistan on Sports.
Ground jam-packed with spectators to witness the match
Hockey ground jam-packed with spectators to witness the Buz Kashi game. “This is a very interesting game and I love it”, Muhammad Hanif, a spectator present in the group told Quetta Voice.
Buz Kashi is an ancient central Asian game. In most of the central Asian states, Buz Kashi is one of the famous games. However, it is a very famous game in neighboring Afghanistan.
“People excited to watch the match”, Faqeer Hussain said
“People are excited to watch this ancient game”, Faqeer Hussain, the President Pakistan Buz Kashi Association said. He said after 6 years, the association organized the sports activity to provide an opportunity for citizens of Quetta to enjoy it.
Buz Kashi is played on horse-back. “It is costly game our players feed their hourses after working hard”, Faqeer Hussain said.
Afghan refugees also watche the match
Besides Quetta, people belonging to various parts of Balochistan also witnessed the ancient game. However, a large number of Afghan refugees also watched the match played between the two countries.
“No win or defeat, it was a friendly match”, Khaliq Hazara said.
At the end of the match, people made selfies with Nadir Pehlawan and other players.
