DC Washuk suspends 15 levies personnel for taking money at a check post

Deputy Commissioner Washuk has suspended 15 levies personnel for taking money from passengers in Basima tehsil of Balochistan. The video of the levies men taking illegal gratification from the passengers went viral the other day on social media.

The video prompted the DC Washuk, Shafqat Shahwani to suspend 15 levies personnel for their involvement in taking bribery from the passengers, a well-placed source the levies force said. The DC also constituted a committee headed by the Assistant Commissioner Jehanzaib Noor to investigate the matter.

DG Levies Mujeeb Qambrani had also taken notice 

The Director-General levies force Balochistan, Mujeeb Qambrani had also taken notice of the illegal gratification at the check post and conveyed this to the DC Washuk.

“Further action against suspended personnel would be taken after the inquiry”, the source said. The incident had happened at Liddi check post tehsil Basima. The video was widely circulated on social media with people strongly criticizing the personnel.

IG Police had removed SP Sorab over corruption charges 

This incident has come few days after the Balochistan Police Chief Muhammad Rai Tahir removed the Superintendent of Police Sorab. The video of the policemen deployed at Sorab had also gone viral that prompted the police chief to take action against the responsible officials.

The IG police had also ordered an inquiry against the SP in this regard.
