Police arrest killer of Asad Achakzai: DIG Azhar Akram

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Quetta, Muhammad Azhar Akram said police have arrested the killer of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asad Achakzai. Speaking at a news conference on Saturday night, the DIG said the killer is a levies constable identified as Israr Ahmed.
“Five-month-old murder mystery resolved”, the DIG told reporters.
The DIG’s revelation has come after the recovery of the decomposed dead body of Asad Achakzai from the Nohsar area of Quetta. “Dead body of Achakzai found on information of the accused”, Azhar Akram informed.
He mentioned that police arrested the accused in a robbery case in the Sariab road area of Quetta. After interrogation, the accused also confessed to kidnapping and killing ANP leader Asad Achakzai, the DIG informed.
He stated that the accused had snatched a vehicle from Asad Achakzai and murdered him in the Nohsar area of Quetta five months back.
