Efforts underway for a drug-free society: Akbar Durrani

ISLAMABAD: Federal Secretary for Narcotics Control, Akbar Hussain Durrani on Tuesday said the present government was making efforts for a drug-free society. He expressed these views while speaking to the Director-General Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Major General Arif Malik.

The DG ANF called on the newly posted federal secretary. The two officers discussed issues relating to the menace of narcotics in the country and the present government’s efforts for a drug-free society.

The two key officers vowed to intensify operations against narcotics smugglers and eradicate the curse of drugs from society. Modern technology needs to be used in the eradication of the curse of narcotics from the country, Akbar Durrani mentioned.

The ANF personnel across the country have rendered great sacrifices while battling drug traffickers, the federal secretary acknowledged the sacrifices of the ANF.

The secretary emphasized that the use of modern gadgets and the development of apps in social media would help in the arrest of criminals.
