ANF soldiers sacrificed their lives in battle against narcotics: Akbar Durrani

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Secretary for Narcotics Control, Akbar Hussain Durrani here on Thursday said the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) soldiers sacrificed their lives in the battle against narcotics smugglers.

Mr. Durrani visited the headquarters of ANF. The Directo-General of ANF, Major General Muhammad Arif Malik, and other high-ranking officials received the Federal Secretary.

Durrani pays rich tribute to 21 martyrs 

The Federal Secretary paid rich tribute to 21 soldiers who laid down their lives while battling the narcotics smugglers. “They sacrificed their lives for a drug-free society”, Mr. Durrani mentioned.

The Secretary took a keen interest in the display room of the ANF that displays the history of the organization since its establishment in 1995. The visiting MNC thoroughly briefed about the role, function, achievements and challenges the ANF faces.

The MNC appreciates the role of ANF 

Brigadier Jehanzaib Akhtar briefed the federal secretary. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Durrani appreciated the efforts of the DG ANF and other officers for their efforts to make a drug-free society.

The Secretary, MNC, then, on the basis of his vast and diverse experience, advised the present officers at ANF HQs about the significance of timeliness of initiating the cases related to budgetary allocation for the next financial year.
