Zia Sanjrani is the brother of the chairman of Senate, Sadiq Sanjrani, and currently serving as Tehsildar Sadar Quetta. Zia Sanjrani is an employee of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). An official of the revenue department had challenged the deputation of Mr. Sanjrani in the BHC.

The court admitted the petition and ordered the two officers to relinquish the charge and report to their parent department. “When there are no experts, then services of outsiders are required”, Justice Mandokhail observed. He said then the department has to send a panel of three officers. Out of three, the government has the mandate to select one officer, the CJ mentioned.

As per the deputation rules, an officer can serve only for five years outside his department. Mr. Sanjrani had exceeded that period, sources in the BHC told Quetta Voice.
