Noshki Balochistan: Man gets 7-year RI for harassing a minor girl

NOSHKI: A local court convicted a man for 7-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) for harassing a minor girl in Balochistan’s Noshki district. The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 5 lakh for committing the sexual offense.

Session judge Noshki, Nazeer Ahmed Khajjak announced the judgment for convicting the accused in a sexual harassment case, court sources told Quetta Voice. The accused belongs to Killi Qadirabad Noshki.

Police had lodged a first information report (FIR) against the accused under article 377B on the application of the minor girl’s mother during 2020. Police had also arrested the accused. The district police officer (DPO), Johar Baloch and Pir Muhammad advocate pursued the case in court.

Violence against women, children on a constant rise in Balochistan 

In Balochistan, violence against women and children increased recently. Women and human rights activists have expressed a concerned voice about the increasing violence. “Violence against women and children appears to be rampant”, Allauddin Khilji, who heads the regional office of Aurat Foundation said.

CJ BHC takes notice of increasing child abuse in Balochistan 

Chief Justice Balochistan High Court (BHC), Mr. Justice Jamal Mandokhail had taken notice of the increasing child abuse in the province. The Chief Judge of the province had directed all commissioners to submit data about the incidents. The court had also directed the subordinate courts to expedite and dispose of such cases timely.
