Water level in Hub river rises to 355 feet after heavy rainfall

The water level in Hub Dam has reached 335 feet due to torrential rains in Darjeeling, Rohna, Shah Noorani and
catchment areas of Hub River that flooded vast areas. .

After filling the dam, water will be discharged from the spillway. The
water level in the dam has reached 335 feet which is just 4 feet short
of the dam’s actual level.

Officials of the irrigation department said that rains were continuing and more flash floods were expected in the area. However, the spillway of the dam would be opened if water level reaches danger level and extra water would enter the sea.

Residents of Usman Qalandrani Goth and Dadu Bandicha Goth have been
asked to move at safer places immediately in view of the expected heavy
