Ali Khan Mandokhail :

At least 2 young men died and 2 injured when two motorcycles collided in Selyaza, a famous picnic point in Balochistan’s Zhob district. Scores of tourists thronged towards the tourist point on the eve of Eid ul Azha.

The injured young men were rushed to district headquarters hospital Zhob for medical treatment. However, doctors referred one injured to Quetta for medical treatment. Levies sources said the incident happened because of overspeeding.

The victims belonged to the Sohrab Goth area of Zhob. A large number of people also reached the spot in the aftermath of the accident. Both motorcycles were also severely damaged during the accident.

Reckless driving and poor road conditions cause accidents

In Balochistan, most of the accidents occur because of reckless driving and poor road conditions. However, bike accidents are rampant across the province. “78 percent cases of traffic accidents are because of motorcycles”, Aziz Jamali, the Chief of Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) told Quetta Voice.

Since people don’t wear helmets, which is the main reason behind increasing deaths, he added. Bike accidents have almost become the order of the day in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. Accidents have claimed thousands of precious human lives.
