DC Dukki cancels 93 unverified domicile certificates

Deputy Commissioner Dukki, Muhammad Azeem Kakar has cancelled 93 unverified domicile certificates. “Domicile certificates cancelled on the directives of Balochistan High Court (BHC)”, Mr Kakar told a news conference on Wednesday.

Balochistan government had also launched a campaign against fake domicile certificates across the province. Deputy Commissioner Mastung, Deputy Commissioner Quetta have already cancelled fake domiciles during the scrutiny process.

377 domiciles issued in Dukki district

The DC Dukki informed the administration had issued a total of 377 domicile certificates so far. The DC office had given advertisements in leading newspapers for verification of domiciles. However, 93 people failed to get domiciles despite repeated notices, the DC added.

Azeem Kakar mentioned that a summary with regard to the cancellation of the domicile certificates would be sent to the BHC and the government of Balochistan.

BHC took notice of fake domiciles 

Balochistan High Court had also taken notice of the issuance of fake domiciles in the province. The court had directed all commissioners to submit a list in this regard. The Balochistan Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan had also directed the concerned quarters to make sure cancellation of fake domiciles issued in various districts of the province.

Senior lawyer, Sajid Tareen advocate had filed a constitutional petition in the BHC seeking cancellation of fake domicile certificates in Balochistan.
