Speaker Balochistan Assembly Qudoos Bizenjo resigns

QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Qudoos Bizenjo has tendered resignation on Monday afternoon. Speaker’s resignation has come after the resignation of Jam Kamal Khan as the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
“Qudoos Bizenjo is likely to be our next Chief Minister”, a senior leader of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) told Quetta Voice. He preferred anonymity. The Speaker has resigned to submit his nomination papers for the position of CM Balochistan, the leader mentioned.
Jan Jamali is likely to be the new speaker
“Jan Muhamamd Jamali is going to be our new speaker of BA”, another leader of the ruling party revealed. Mr. Jamali also remained as the CM and speaker of the Balochistan Assembly.
Mr. Bizenjo has led a political revolt against the former CM Jam Kamal Khan since September 16 when the joint opposition submitted a no-confidence motion. The outgoing speaker has been at the forefront against the former CM Jam Kamal Khan.
Talks are underway within the ruling party, coalition partners, and opposition regarding the distribution of portfolios. The members who were ignored during the last three years would be compensated, Irfan Saeed, a senior journalist told Quetta Voice. He said ministers having A category ministers would be given C categories.
Differences surfaced within the ruling party
Serious differences surfaced within the ruling party after the opposition’s no-confidence motion. The ruling party’s core committee was also divided into two groups. However, Mr. Bizenjo led faction of the ruling party prevailed, forcing the CM Jam Kamal to tender resignation.
Jam Kamal Khan tendered resignation as the president of the party. However, he withdrew his decision when the founder of the party Senator Saeed Hashmi nominated Mir Zahoor Buledi as the acting president of the party. The political crisis turned into a constitutional crisis also.
