Child death in BMC: CMIT recommends suspension of resident MO

QUETTA: The Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) has recommended the suspension of the resident medical officer (general) for his negligence with regard to the death of a child in the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMCH). A three-year-old child Ashkan Ali fell and died in an open gutter located in the heart of BMCH the other day.
Parents of the child had demanded of the government to take notice of the incident and punish the responsible officials. According to a late-night official handout on Sunday, Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo had taken notice of the sad incident. The CM had directed the CMIT to probe into the incident.
The CMIT filed its report and recommended action against the MO resident (general) and found the sweepers and their supervisor also responsible for the said act. The team recommended the suspension of sweepers and their supervisors and recommended action against them under the BEDA act.
The CMIT recommended the transfer of staff members serving in the hospital for years in order to allow the Medical Superintendent to ensure better performance. An immediate installation of the CCTV cameras is also recommended. The private company responsible for the security of the hospital was also declared responsible for negligence in this regard.
