BHC Takes Action Against SSGC Over Unjustified Charges

SSGC not to remove gas meters without associating consumers

QUETTA: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Monday assured the Balochistan High Court (BHC) that no gas meters would be removed next time without associating the consumers. The learned counsel for the company gave this assurance to a division bench of the BHC.

The bench comprises Chief Justice BHC, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Baloch. The counsel gave this assurance during a hearing of a petition filed by senior lawyer Syed Nazeer Agha Advocate.

In the case, the consumer is non-cooperative, deliberately disappears, or resists the removal, the SHO Police of the concerned area would be taken on board regarding the forensic of the gas meter. The learned counsel for the SSGC told the bench that the consumers can submit complaints in the company’s complaint cell in working days from morning to evening.

Regarding the slow gas meter charges, the company’s counsel requested to assist the court in this regard and the matter has been fixed for today (Tuesday).
