Relief operation launched in Mekran Division after heavy rainfall

Balochistan government has launched a relief operation in Mekran Division after heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning. Blankets, medicines, tents, and commodities were dispatched to the affected people, the Director-General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Naseer Ahmed Nasar said.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has also directed all departments to make sure provision necessary relief and support to the affectees of rainfall and snowfall. Balochistan’s district Kech has received a snowfall. This is rare that the district has received record snowfall.

All districts of the Mekran division have launched relief and rescue operations to support the people in desperate need of relief. “We will not leave our brothers alone in this hour of trial”, CM Balochistan said in a statement after launching a relief operation in Mekran Division.

“People are in desperate need of support”, Fida Hussain Dashti, the Central Secretary of Finance, National Party (NP) told Quetta Voice via phone. He said the government should go behind words and provide basic facilities to the affected people. Rainfall has caused damages in the entire district, Mr. Dahsti said.

Gwadar

Pasni, Jewni, and almost all parts of Gwadar have received heavy rainfall. There are reports of financial losses, locals said. Hamal Kalmati, the Member of Balochistan Assembly from Gwadar also visited various rain-affected areas of the city. He assured the affected people that government would address their issues.

Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, Captain (R) Jameel Ahmed Baloch launched a relief operation in the port city of the country after heavy rainfall. Mr. Baloch visited various parts of the city and reviewed the relief activities in the area. The DC directed the concerned departments to provide timely and necessary relief and support to the affectees of the recent rainfall in the area.
