Governor directs Administrator Quetta to implement building code

Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha has directed Administrator Quetta to ensure the implementation of building code in the city. “This city is located in the earthquake red zone”, the Governor told the Administrator.

Administrator Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC), Hafiz Shaukat Ali called on the Governor and briefed him about the cleanliness operations and other issues relating to the provincial capital. Quetta city was razed to ground in the deadliest earthquake of 1935. The entire city was razed to ground within 30 seconds.

Plaza and building owners should specify place for parking: Governor

Governor Agha directed the administration to ask the people constructing plazas and major buildings to specify a place for parking. “None should be allowed to construct a building without a separate place for parking”, he said.

Syed Zahoor Agha dismayed over poor cleanliness in the city and said that there are streets and roads, which have not been constructed and repaired during last one decade. He directed the Administrator to ensure placing street lights, traffic signals and cleanliness in the city. “This is 21st century, we have to be more efficient”, he added.
