Blast targets Jaffar Express in Mashkaf Sibi, 5 passengers injured

A blast has targetted Jaffar Express in Balochistan’s Sibi district on Tuesday afternoon. At least five passengers were injured in the blast, levies source said. Miscreants had planted an improvised explosive device (IED) near a railway track in the Mashkaf area of Sibi.

The injured were rushed to district headquarters hospital Sibi for medical treatment. Frontier Corps (FC), Levies, and Policemen reached the spot as investigation into the incident went underway.

The passenger train was on its way from Quetta to Peshawar when targeted by the terrorists. The train was stopped in the aftermath of the blast. The blast also caused the suspension of the train service between Balochistan and other parts of the country.

Pakistan Railway immediately dispatched a technical team from Quetta to repair the damaged portion of the railway track near Mashkaf. Security was tightened and patrolling of forces increased after the blast, which targeted the passenger train.

CM Bizenjo condemns the attack

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has strongly condemned the terrorist attack. In a statement issued after the blast, Mr. Bizenjo said the perpetrators would be brought to justice. The CM stated that none would be allowed to play with the lives of innocent people.
