Historic Sibi Mela began here on Friday amid traditional dances and the famous flower show. A large number of people from Sibi, various parts of the province, and the country participated in the inaugural ceremony of the Mela. Senior Minister Balochistan, Sardar Saleh Bhootani was the guest of the inaugural ceremony of the Mela.

“This is a centuries-old festival”, Sardar Bhootani told the participants of the inaugural ceremony. A large number of male and female students from various schools of Sibi performed the famous flower show. The participants of the Mela took a keen interest in the flower show and hailed the performance of students.

The livestock owners also walked before the stage along with their cows, buffaloes, goats, and other animals on the occasion. Buffallows from Balochistan’s Bhag Nari area are very famous.

“Your government has decided to promote agriculture and livestock to mitigate the impacts of poverty and unemployment”, Sardar Bhootani told the people. He said the government has already launched a number of schemes to support the people of Balochistan.

Various government departments had also established stalls at the Mela to promote tourism, livestock, agriculture, and other sectors of Balochistan. People took a keen interest in the stalls established by government departments.

Sardar Bhootani also hailed the efforts of local administration for ensuring the holding of the Mela. He also distributed prizes among the tribal elders and people belonging to various walks of life.

Sibi Mela is a centuries-old tradition. The Mela serves to be one of the best sources of income for the people of Sibi and surrounding areas.
