Sindh and Balochistan agree to solve water issues end illegal fishing

Sindh and Balochistan provinces have decided to solve longstanding water issues and end bring an end to illegal trawling/ fishing on Monday. These important decisions were made during a meeting between Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo, and Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Both CMs discussed issues relating to the two provinces, an official handout issued by the CM Balochistan Secretariat said. Mr. Bizenjo took up the issue of Balochistan’s water share with his counterpart, it mentioned.

CM Balochistan also raised the issue of illegal fishing/trawling in the Arabian Sea in Gwadar. The two chief executives of the provinces agreed to keep continue talks for solutions to issues including water and illegal fishing in the future.

CM Balochistan’s meeting with the Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah has come a few days after the Gwadar Right Movement (GRM) staged a massive public rally in the port city against illegal fishing and trawling. Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, a local leader of the Jamaat e Islami (JI) led the protesters.
