Commander 12-Corps, Lieutenant General Sarfaraz Ali has said that the completion of the Mangi Dam would solve Quetta’s water scarcity issue. The Commander visited the under-construction Mangi Dam and reviewed the pace of work on Tuesday. Work on the construction of the Dam was started in 2017 and it is expected to be completed in 2022.

Lt. General Sarfaraz assured protection to the laborers and engineers working on the construction of Mangi Dam. “Pak Army will take all possible steps for your protection”, he assured. He lauded the efforts of the engineers and laborers engaged in hectic efforts to make sure quality and timely completion of the project.

The construction of the dam was launched by the federal and provincial governments, which would ensure the provision of 801 million gallons of water on a daily basis to the provincial capital. This would solve the provincial capital’s water scarcity problem to a large extent.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commander termed the contribution and struggle of laborers and engineers as a great contribution to the country and nation. The Project management thanked the Commander for providing security and extending support in the completion of the project.
