Blast in Sadar area of Karachi kills one, injured over a dozen

KARACHI: A powerful blast has killed one person and injured over a dozen in Karachi’s Sadar area on Thursday night. Police sources said the bomb went off near the vehicle of security forces. The blast has severely damaged several vehicles parked in the area.

The injured were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. The vehicles parked in the area caught fire after the blast. People in the area picked up the injured to the hospital on their own.

The intensity of the blast smashed the glasses of nearby shops and markets located in the area. The bomb went off near the United Bakery. Shopkeepers pulled down their shutters in the aftermath of the explosion.

Police and other law enforcement agencies personnel reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway.
