Gastroenteritis outbreak: 9 students affected, CM Bizenjo takes notice

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has taken notice of the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the province’s Mastung district on Tuesday. Gastroenteritis has affected 9 students of the Cadet College Mastung.

The students were shifted to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani hospital for medical treatment. It was revealed that the students were affected because of drinking contaminated water inside the college. The condition of the students is out of danger, hospital sources said.

Mr. Bizenjo directed the concerned authorities to submit a comprehensive report in this regard.

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili has also been dismayed over the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the Cadet College Mastung. “No negligence about the health of the students would be tolerated”, the CS was quoted in an official handout issued on Tuesday night.

Deputy Commissioner Mastung and other high-ups visited the College and met with students and faculty members. The officials also visited Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani hospital and inquired about the health condition of the students.
