CHAMAN: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili said poliovirus exists only in Pakistan and Afghanistan as the rest of the world has successfully eradicated it. The CS and other high-ups visited Chaman on Wednesday to review the ongoing anti-polio campaign.

Commissioner Quetta Division, Sohail ur Rehman, Deputy Commissioner Chaman Captain (R) Jumadad Mandokhail and other officials received the CS Balochistan.

“We have to eradicate this virus from Pakistan”, Mr. Uqaili vowed. He urged the civil administration and officials of the health department to make sure provision of anti-polio drops for children under the age of five years during the campaign.

“These children are our future”, the CS stated. He directed the health department to ensure immediate appointments of lady health workers to improve health conditions and make the anti-polio campaign a success.

Deputy Commissioner Chaman, Captain (R) Jumadad Mandokhail briefed CS Balochistan about the fast-approaching local bodies’ elections. The CS urged all political parties to demonstrate patience with regard to the local bodies’ elections and ensure peace.

Mr. Uqaili visited basic health units and other official buildings and was briefed about the operations in the district.
