Levies officer killed in an armed attack in Zehri Khuzdar

Armed men kidnapped two tourists from Balochistan’s famous tourist area Ziarat. Levies sources said the incident happened in the Warchum area of Ziarat. The kidnappers left the family members and picked up an officer and his driver.

The tourists were from Karachi and visiting Ziarat on the eve of Eid ul Azha. The incident angered the local tribesmen who blocked the road to condemn the kidnapping. The local tribesmen were demanding an unhurt recovery of the kidnapped people and an end to such incidents in the area. They vowed to continue their protest till the recovery of the kidnapped tourists.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the kidnapping incident. In an official handout issued on Wednesday morning, the CM has directed the local administration to ensure the recovery of the kidnapping tourists.

CM Balochistan has also directed the administration to submit a report regarding the incident.

Noor Muhammad Dumar, the Balochistan Senior Minister has also strongly condemned the incident and termed it a conspiracy against the traditional peace of the area. Dumar belongs to the Harnai Ziarat constituency.

He said the government was utilizing all resources to make sure the unhurt and immediate recovery of the kidnapped tourists.
