At least four coal miners were killed in Quetta’s Sara Ghurgai area on Monday. Rescue sources said the coal miners were deep inside the mine when it suddenly filled with poisonous gas.

All four coal miners died inside the mine. Rescue workers and police reached the spot of the incident and retrieved the dead bodies from the mine after hectic efforts. The dead bodies of the victims have shifted to civil hospital Quetta.

The victims were identified as Muhammad Khan and Fazal ur Rehman. They were brothers. The names of another two victims are yet to be confirmed. A large number of local residents of Sara Ghurgai and Zarghoon also reached the area after the incident.

Hazardous working conditions inside coal mines of Balochistan have claimed scores of precious human lives. Such untoward incidents have almost become order of the day in Dukki, Harnai, Quetta, Mach and Chamalang areas of Balochistan.
