QUETTA: Balochistan Editors Forum (BEF) has vowed to defend indigenous newspapers despite all odds. The BEF held an important meeting and expressed serious concern over the non-payment and reduction of advertisements in the regional newspapers.

The members of the BEF demanded an immediate payment to the regional papers. The meeting also expressed serious concern over the low flow of advertisements to regional newspapers and urged the provincial government to issue special supplements so that the newspapers could overcome the prevailing financial crisis.

The BEF meeting demanded that Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo and Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Uqaili take notice of the delayed payments to newspapers and the reduction in the flow of advertisements to the indigenous press.
