WHO provides medicines for flood affected areas in Balochistan

Health Desk: 

Representative of the World Health Organization(WHO) for Pakistan Dr. Palitha Mahiphala provided medicines for flood-affected areas in Balochistan to cope with malaria, cholera, and other pandemic diseases. 

WHO provided medicines, motorcycles for communication, and other equipment to the Government of Balochistan for operational activities.

Addressing a function at EPI Headquarters Quetta, WHO Pakistan’s representative Dr. Palitha Mahiphala said that the United Nations, with the support of the WHO, has successfully completed its mission in the flood-affected areas of Balochistan.

WHO is utilizing all resources to reach and provide treatment facilities to the affectees with better coordination with the incumbent government. The WHO is also active in increasing the capacity of the health department in the province.

On this occasion, the representatives of the Health Department of Balochistan expressed special gratitude to the WHO.
