Chief Minister Balochistan ordered the formation of the Joint Interrogation Team (JIT) to probe into the killing of three persons including a woman and two men in the Barkhan district of the province. “The CM has decided to conduct an impartial inquiry of the incident”, an official handout issued here on Tuesday said.
The Chief Minister has taken notice of the incident and directed an impartial inquiry to probe into the incident, the handout concluded. Levies force on Monday recovered three dead bodies from a well in the Haji Kot area of Barkhan. The dead include two men and a woman. Khan Muhammad Marri, a local tribesman accused the Balochistan Minister for Communication and Works (C&W), Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran of killing his family members.
No influential person would be spared: IG Police
“The dead bodies are of my wife and two sons”, Mr. Marri said in a statement widely shared on social media. The Balochistan Minister, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran is yet to comment on Mr. Marri’s claim. The Inspector General of Police, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh assured that a fair and free investigation of the incident would be conducted. Anyone including any influential person would not be spared, Mr. Sheikh said. He said the JIT would probe into the incident and the responsible people would be brought to justice.

The heirs and Marri tribesmen started their journey from Barkhan to Quetta to stage a protest demonstration outside the Balochistan Assembly. Hundreds of tribesmen are carrying the dead bodies in ambulances to reach Quetta and record their protest. The administration has taken strict security measures to avoid the occurrence of any untoward incident. The heirs and tribesmen reached Quetta and staged a protest demonstration at the main Hockey Chowk to mount pressure for the arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.
Balochistan Assembly condemns the incident
Members of the Balochistan Assembly also strongly condemned the incident and demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident. “There has to be fair and impartial inquiry into the incident”, Sanaullah Baloch, a lawmaker from the Balochistan National Party (Mengal) demanded. Mr. Baloch said that none should be spared in this regard and justice must be done.
