News Desk:

A 35-year-old woman was killed in the name of ‘honor’ in Barkhan district of Balochistan on Thursday. The victim of the incident had two children. Sources told Quetta Voice that the brother of the victim has rejected the statement of honor killing and titled it as an allegation against the woman.

The heirs and brother of the victim have told that the victim was beaten and injured by her husband named Babu. When my sister tried to save her life, he shot and killed her. The deceased’s two children were a daughter and a son.

The deceased’s brother says that Babu wanted to have a second marriage, which my sister was not allowing him. My sister is innocent and brutally killed by her husband. In this regard, attempts have been made to contact Deputy Tehsildar Barkhan Haji Karim Bakhsh several times, but no response has come out from his side.

In Balochistan, oppression against women is increasing continuously but on the other hand, the institutions created by the federal government of Balochistan, especially for the deprived class, are also ignorant and sleeping.

It is the responsibility of the rulers to investigate whether the woman was killed on the charge of honor or she was innocent. The government should take notice and take serious steps to stop the killings of women.

Similarly many incidents of women killing have been reported from different areas of Balochistan.
