The search committee has started the process of interviews of candidates regarding the appointment of five vice-chancellors of five public universities in Balochistan.
Dr. Asma Haider from IBA, Dr. Beka Ram, Dr. Dost Muhammad LUAMS, the Principal Secretary to Governor Balochistan, Nasir Dotani, and Hafiz Abdul Majid, the Secretary of Higher Education Balochistan are the members of the committee.
The Search Committee would ensure merit and transparency in the appointment of vice-chancellors, an official handout issued here on Sunday said.
This is for the time in the history of Balochistan that a search committee has launched the process of interviews to recruit VCs from five public universities in the province.
Earlier, the Governor used to appoint the VCs. However, the passage of the 18th amendment empowered the provincial government to recruit the VCs since higher education is now a provincial subject.
